ALI Edge is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy. All AI processing happens locally on your device. No data is sent to external servers, no telemetry is collected, and no cloud services are required.

1. Data Collection

ALI Edge does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on remote servers. Specifically:

  • Conversations: All chat messages and AI responses stay on your local machine and are never transmitted over the internet.
  • Models: AI models run entirely on your hardware using your GPU/CPU. No API calls are made to external AI services.
  • Analytics: We do not use any analytics, tracking, or telemetry services.
  • Cookies: The application does not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.

2. Local Data Storage

ALI Edge stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Your conversation history
  • Application settings and preferences
  • Downloaded AI models (GGUF format)
  • Evaluation results and benchmarks

This data resides solely on your computer and can be deleted at any time by removing the application.

3. Network Usage

ALI Edge operates fully offline after installation. The only network activity occurs:

  • During initial download of the application
  • If you optionally configure DNS resolution for local access (e.g., http://ali), which only modifies your local system configuration

The application binds to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) only and is not accessible from other devices on your network.

4. Third-Party Services

ALI Edge does not integrate with, send data to, or rely on any third-party services for its core functionality. No data is shared with third parties.

5. Open Source

ALI Edge is released under the MIT License. The source code is publicly available for review, ensuring full transparency about how your data is handled.

6. Children's Privacy

ALI Edge does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13, since the application collects no data at all.

7. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Since ALI Edge collects no data, changes would only reflect new features or clarifications.
